Reading The Dashboard: Lamps And The Attention Strip

The page you land on, and the one to check first thing. Read it in this order.

  1. The Top Of The Page

A strip appears above the table only when something needs attention, and it names the kiosks and how long they have been quiet. Nothing there means nothing to do — an empty top of this page is the answer you want.

The attention strip on the dashboard, naming a kiosk that has gone quiet and how long ago it was last heard from.
Absent entirely when every kiosk is fine.
  2. The Lamps

Every kiosk you own, grouped by Location. Green is checking in; red has been quiet long enough to worry about. A kiosk reports roughly every thirty seconds, so a minute of silence is normal and the lamp only turns when it is not.

The group heading counts for you — 2 kiosks · 1 online — and a red stripe runs down the left of any row that needs looking at.

The dashboard's kiosk table grouped by Location, showing three kiosks Online in green and one Offline in red with a red stripe down its row.
Grouped by Location. The Boat Shop has not reported for a day.
  3. The Two Catalog Figures

Videos in catalog is how many you have uploaded. Named Barcodes is how many of those have a product name attached.

Two figures above the dashboard table: Videos in catalog, and Named Barcodes.
If the first is lower than you expect, something never finished uploading.

Worth Knowing

  • A red lamp is usually the television or the wi-fi, not the kiosk — start at a blank screen.
  • The strip and the table cannot disagree. The strip is built from the rows underneath it.
  • Use the search box when you have more kiosks than fit a screen. It matches names, serials and IP addresses.
