Too Many Wrong Attempts — It Unlocks Itself

Five wrong passwords locks the account for a few minutes, and the message tells you how long.

It unlocks itself. Nobody has to unlock it for you and waiting is enough. Resetting your password also gets you straight back in without waiting.

Guessing again during the lock does not extend it, so there is no harm done — but there is no point either.

The sign-in page after too many failed attempts, showing a message that the account is locked and how many minutes remain, with a Reset my password button.
The message tells you how long. It unlocks itself.

Worth Knowing

  • Repeated lockouts get longer. If it keeps happening, reset the password rather than keep guessing.
  • We cannot see your password and cannot tell you what it was. A reset is the only route.
